Kilian Hennessy pays homage to his family with the new collection “The Liquors Collection” . Kilian, in fact, comes from a very ancient family, dedicated to the production of liqueurs and cognac. The inspiration for his fragrances comes from music, literature and everything that is happening in the world at the moment. His work is similar to that of a film director. First, he writes the idea, a sort of storyboard, because his fragrances are very narrative, they have complex names with a title and a subtitle that together work to evoke the emotion and tell the story contained in the perfume.
The first new fragrance from “The Liquors Collection” is Roses on Ice . This creation, available in both a 50ml and a 250ml “Carafe” , is the result of a first collaboration with perfumer Franck Voelkl. Kilian Hennessy wanted to recreate the tasting of “gin on the rocks” with a splash of lime, reminiscent of his wife’s favorite drink. Anyone like notes of gin, distilled with rose and cucumber? The Roses on Ice perfume opens with the aquatic freshness of cucumber and the aromatic lift of juniper berries, creating an icy sensation, rounded off in an accord with the voluptuous Rosa Centifolia. On a base of sandalwood and musk, the perfume expresses the sharp, yet deeply infused, character of gin consumed in its ideal.
The second fragrance, Angel's Share, is available in both a 50ml and a 250ml “Carafe” version. Just like a master perfumer who creates accords and essences in a perfume, a master blender combines the spirits in perfect proportions for an exceptional cognac. Angels' Share contains the essence of Cognac derived from the liqueur to give it a natural caramel color. Opening with cognac oil, on a blend of oak absolute, cinnamon essence and tonka bean absolute, the lingering notes of sandalwood, praline and vanilla create a delicious finish, a rare blend that only angels should experience.
