For the Greeks and Romans it was the flower of Aphrodite and Venus, goddesses of love and beauty. Originally white, it was dyed red when Cupid accidentally spilled a glass of wine on them, transforming them into a symbol of passion. In the language of flowers, the Rose represents True Love.
