Jermyn Street is a tribute to what was the home of Floris’ family business for almost 300 years: its headquarters at 89 Jermyn Street , London.
The fragrance, like its inspiration, evokes a refined elegance made of class, style and discretion and wants to celebrate not only the world in which Floris is immersed and in which he creates and offers his fragrances, but also the originality and emotions typical of this place.
In 1730, the year Floris was born, Jermyn Street was a small universe of enterprise, frenetic activity and welcoming contributions from all over the British Empire that guaranteed new knowledge and great opportunities.
Almost 300 years later we can see that very little has changed. The thoughts of the Floris House Perfumer therefore go to the copper stills of the distilleries and to the notes of an excellent gin with a splash of lemon, the unmistakable aroma of Gin Tonic, the most British drink (and anti-malarial drug) by definition, which has hovered in the Pubs and Clubs of London since the 18th century. The Jermyn Street eau de parfum begins with an exuberant burst of citrus and green notes combined with a persistent, intense and virile vetiver that pervades it from its first scents to the base notes. The whole is supported by a heart that, in addition to the essential juniper, has a surprising contemporary twist of coriander, also a subtle tribute to the traditional production of the best gins. Its green notes recall the London Plane, the most beloved tree in London, which still stands proudly in front of the Floris store on Jermyn Street. Amber, cedarwood and musk are expertly added to represent the delicate scent of fresh cotton used by the renowned shirtmakers who have settled on the street over the years, an essential stop for exclusive shopping and an icon of British Style. Classic and modern at the same time, the new unisex eau de parfum by Floris speaks to us of a one-of-a-kind street, of its role in the lives of Londoners and of its unparalleled dynamism throughout the centuries. Jermyn Street was named in 1664 after Baron Henry Jermyn, an influential politician and the first Earl of St. Alban, also known as the “Father of the West End” because he was responsible for the development of the refined London neighborhood that embraces Jermyn Street.
