Ashore by Amouage is inspired by the coasts of Ras Al Jinz in Oman.
In the height of summer, when the sun is at its zenith, Ashore, depicts a mirage of the senses. When the eyes are saturated with light, a surreal luminosity melts everything around them, leaving only the wind that carries the scent of spices from the East. This intoxicating white floral fragrance of jasmine, ambergris and sandalwood offers an olfactory interpretation of the union of sun, sand and waves, while cardamom and turmeric recall the scent of spices from India.
“ Creating Ashore took me on a dreamlike journey through the olfactory landscape of the eastern shores of Oman. I drifted under the blinding sun of the Ras al Jinz coast, intoxicated by the scent of Sambac jasmine, piercing the air like an extremely luminous accord. I was enveloped in the surreal luminosity of the sun, beating down on the endless white sand beaches, and I captured the salty mineral notes of ambergris to evoke the waves crashing on the shore. India is just a few kilometres away and the notes of cardamom and turmeric recall the scent of spices that the wind carries with it with jasmine, like a whisper to wake up .” -Mackenzie Reilly
