An impressionistic representation of nature, an imperfect beauty
Angeliques under the pluie – Frédéric Malle Parfume vapo
Year of creation : 2000
Olfactory family : Woody Floral Musky
It is inspired by the perception of a whiff of angelica smelled in the wind during a walk Ellena in a friend's garden, after it had rained. She set to work to recreate this fresh, spicy and delicately woody smell. Using raw materials of the highest quality, she created this delicate and discreet fragrance. Angeliques sous la Pluie was conceived as a watercolor.
Master : Jean-Claude Ellena
As a disciple and close friend of the legendary Edmond Roudnitska (creator of "Le Parfum de Thérèse"), Jean-Claude Ellena began his career with a minimalist approach to perfumery. Since then, he has developed this approach into his own signature style, which is continually informed by his elegant and calm manner, and has been compared by his contemporaries to watercolor sketches and chamber music. Jean-Claude says that a perfume should be like “a soft caress; nothing should shock, nothing should shout."
Jean-Claude Ellena was born in Grasse into a family of perfumers. His training began at the age of 17, in the most prestigious laboratories - in Grasse, Paris, New York and Geneva - where he always considered himself self-taught. Jean-Claude met Frédéric Malle in Roure when he was working on "Eau au Thé Vert" for Bulgari. He composed one perfume a year for Editions de Parfums before joining Hermès. He has now returned as a full-fledged author to Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle.
A watercolor sketch of colorful angelica flowers with flecks of juniper berries, pink pepper and bergamot, on a vibrant base of cedar and white musk.
Shades of purple and gray bleed into each other imprecisely, as if blurred by rain, in a fragile picture of dewy, spicy freshness.Head : Bergamot, Juniper
Heart : Rose, Angelica
Base : Cedar, Animal musk.
Vittoria Profumi's advice: delicate, soft, and slightly sparkling sillage. Lover of "light" perfumes with high persistence... a breath of fresh air.
