Edouard Manet's Le Déjeuner sur l'Herbe caused quite a scandal when it was seen by art critics in Paris in 1863. Despite Manet's claims of references to classical art, this scene, which depicted two fully clothed men with a nude woman picnicking in a forest, was considered obscene by his contemporaries.
It is this raw modernity that guided perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin in the creation of this Cologne formula. It pushed him to reinvent neroli or rather, the distillation of the orange blossom petal plant, injecting a saturation of light. He placed a solar accord at the heart of the Cologne, to which he added white musk and amber ingredients with an overdose of oxygen that blurs all preconceptions.
