French lover - Frédéric Malle
Year of creation: 2007
Olfactory family: Woody Aromatic
The spicy freshness of pimiento, angelica and juniper flowers blends into a woody sea of cedar, patchouli and vetiver, bound by galbanum and incense in a mysterious exaltation of the natural scent of man.
Nose: Pierre Bourdon
As Edmond Roudnitska's only pupil, Pierre Bourdon was soon informed by the philosophy that perfumes should be created as works of art. With this in mind, Pierre continued to revolutionize perfume trends in the 1980s with his "Cool Water" men's perfume for Davidoff. It was then that he met Frédéric Malle. Realizing that they shared the same vision of perfume making, the two became like family to each other. It was obviously for Frédéric, when he created Editions de Parfums, that Pierre should have composed his first perfume, Iris Poudre.
Pierre and Frédéric had grown up under the same spell as Dior Parfums, where their parents had both established careers. After graduating from the Paris Institute of Political Studies, the spell of childhood reaches Pierre and, like Frédéric, he enrolls at the Roure Bertrand Dupont in Grasse.
Notes: Spices and Galbanum, Incense, Cedar and Angelica, Qurcia Musk, Vetiver and White Musk.
Vittoria Profumi's advice: For the man who wouldn't normally wear perfume, who believes in naked attraction and relies on the seductive power of his rough looks.
