Bigarade Concentree-Frédéric Malle
Year of creation: 2002
Family: Aromatic Citrus
Struck by the lightness of the Cologne Bigarade, Jean Claude Ellena and Frédéric Malle decided to propose a much more concentrated version of the same composition. Bigarade Concentrée d iFrédéric Malle boasts dominant notes of bitter orange even more stringent than Cologne Bigarade, but the notes of cardamom, hay and cedar are more prominent and makes this version of the cologne a little more masculine.
Luxurious in its apparent purity, like a crisp white shirt: minimal and transparent. Yet, underneath, there is an undercurrent of malice. A sense of warm skin tone and strong sex appeal that unfolds as it lingers. For those who believe that seduction is found in cleanliness and perfection, here is a cologne designed to renew the wearer with every spray.
Maitre: Jean-Claude Ellena
As a disciple and close friend of the legendary Edmond Roudnitska (creator of "Le Parfum de Thérèse"), Jean-Claude Ellena began her career with a minimalist approach to perfumery. Since then, he has developed this approach into his own distinctive style, which is continually out of his way of being elegant and quiet, and has been compared by his contemporaries to watercolor sketches and chamber music. Jean-Claude says that a perfume must be like “a soft caress; nothing must shock, nothing must shout ".
Jean-Claude Ellena was born in Grasse into a family of perfumers. His training began at the age of 17, in the most prestigious laboratories - in Grasse, Paris, New York and Geneva - where he always considers himself self-taught. Jean-Claude met Frédéric Malle in Roure while he was working on a Bulgari "Eau au Thé Vert". He composed a perfume a year for Editions de Parfums before joining Hermès. Now he is back as a full-fledged author at Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle.
An overdose of refined bitter orange essence (or "bigarade", as they say in Provence), embellished with cardamom and pink pepper on a woody base of hay and cedar, heralds a new generation of "eaux".
Head: Bitter Orange
Heart: Rose
Base: Cedar, Grass and Hay
Vittoria Profumi's advice: If you love bitter perfumes with a flowery sillage, Bigarade Concentratee is right for you. Fresh, aromatic and decidedly woody.
